{"id":878,"date":"2015-02-11T07:06:24","date_gmt":"2015-02-11T13:06:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/?p=878"},"modified":"2018-03-22T21:29:27","modified_gmt":"2018-03-23T02:29:27","slug":"lazy-day-braised-pot-roast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/?p=878","title":{"rendered":"Lazy Day Braised Pot Roast * (Not IC Safe)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"pf-content\"><p><a href=\"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Lazy-Day-Pot-Roast-Slow-Cooker-3-13.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-879\" src=\"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Lazy-Day-Pot-Roast-Slow-Cooker-3-13-800x534.jpg\" alt=\"Lazy Day Pot Roast Slow Cooker 3-13\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Lazy-Day-Pot-Roast-Slow-Cooker-3-13-800x534.jpg 800w, https:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Lazy-Day-Pot-Roast-Slow-Cooker-3-13.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I found this recipe in one of my giant cookbooks for slow cookers entitled, &#8220;Not Your Mother&#8217;s Slow Cooker Cookbook&#8221; by Beth Hensperger and Julie Kaufmann. \u00a0It was super simple to make, extremely moist (see photo), and had rich flavor. \u00a0Serves 6-8 people. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>INGREDIENTS:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One 4-LB. boneless chuck roast, trimmed of as much fat as possible and blotted dry<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp. salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper**<\/li>\n<li>4 large carrots, cut into 3&#8243; lengths<\/li>\n<li>4 large potatoes, peeled and quartered<\/li>\n<li>1 large onion, quartered (I used flakes)**<\/li>\n<li>2 bay leaves<\/li>\n<li>3 cups water<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup cider vinegar**<\/li>\n<li>3 T. unsalted butter, softened<\/li>\n<li>3 T. all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">**Known IC irritants, tread carefully!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>DIRECTIONS:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Put the roast in the slow cooker and sprinkle with the salt and pepper.<\/li>\n<li>Add the carrots, potatoes, onion, and bay leaves.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the water and vinegar over the meat and vegetables.<\/li>\n<li>Cover and cook on LOW for approximately 6-8 hours (you be the judge of how quickly your slow cooker cooks).<\/li>\n<li>Transfer the meat and vegetables to a heated platter and cover with aluminum foil.<\/li>\n<li>Turn the cooker to HIGH.
