{"id":570,"date":"2014-06-09T21:00:14","date_gmt":"2014-06-10T02:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/?p=570"},"modified":"2018-03-22T23:56:23","modified_gmt":"2018-03-23T04:56:23","slug":"authentic-german-potato-salad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/?p=570","title":{"rendered":"Authentic German Potato Salad * (Not IC Safe)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"pf-content\"><p><a href=\"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/german-potato-salad.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-571\" src=\"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/german-potato-salad-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/german-potato-salad-800x600.jpg 800w, https:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/german-potato-salad.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I subscribe to All Recipes magazine, which I highly suggest!\u00a0 I found this German potato salad recipe and even though I&#8217;ve tried one before, I wanted to try a new one.\u00a0 This one was the best!\u00a0 It&#8217;s a great way to offer a potato salad if someone you know is allergic to eggs, or if you just want a different flavor!\u00a0 Some people suggest doubling the bacon, which I think is a good idea.\u00a0 I used red potatoes and it was tasty.\u00a0 I omitted the onion and used onion powder and it was just fine.\u00a0 Some people said that 3 T. sugar was too much, so I just added 1 teaspoon.<\/p>\n<p>INGREDIENTS:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 cups peeled, diced potatoes (1 1\/4 lbs) &#8211; use waxy potatoes<\/li>\n<li>4 or more slices bacon<\/li>\n<li>1 small onion, diced**<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup white vinegar**<\/li>\n<li>2 T. water<\/li>\n<li>3 T. sugar (The magazine says start with a few teaspoons and taste it before adding more).<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp. salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/8 tsp. black pepper**<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon (or more) fresh parsley<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">**Known IC irritants, tread carefully!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>DIRECTIONS:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Put potatoes in pot, and fill with enough water to cover.\u00a0 Bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes, or <strong>until easily pierced with fork.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Drain potatoes, set aside to cool.<\/li>\n<li>Meanwhile, fry bacon in a large deep skillet over medium heat until browned and crisp.\u00a0 Remove bacon and set aside to drain, reserving drippings in skillet.
