{"id":440,"date":"2014-03-05T16:37:39","date_gmt":"2014-03-05T22:37:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/?p=440"},"modified":"2014-03-05T16:37:39","modified_gmt":"2014-03-05T22:37:39","slug":"orzo-with-parmesan-and-basil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/?p=440","title":{"rendered":"Orzo with Parmesan and Basil"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"pf-content\"><p><a href=\"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/SAM_0522.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-441\" alt=\"SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES\" src=\"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/SAM_0522-800x600.jpg\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/SAM_0522-800x600.jpg 800w, https:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/SAM_0522.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wow, sometimes it&#8217;s the most simple recipes that turn out the best.\u00a0 I knew while the aroma was filling my kitchen, that this recipe would turn out beautifully.\u00a0 Between the chicken stock, orzo, fresh basil, and the Parmesan, this is just wonderful!\u00a0 It&#8217;s hard to stop eating it even though it does not have MSG.\u00a0 This is how Rice a Roni should be done!\u00a0 No preservatives and barely any more work than a boxed meal.\u00a0 *If you want whole wheat orzo, they have it at certain stores.\u00a0 In the past, I&#8217;ve found it at Whole Foods.\u00a0 Enjoy!\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li id=\"liIngredient\" data-role=\"recipe-ingredient\" data-ingredientid=\"16157\" data-grams=\"28.4\">\n<p itemprop=\"ingredients\"><strong>2 tablespoons butter<label><label><\/label><\/label><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li id=\"liIngredient\" data-role=\"recipe-ingredient\" data-ingredientid=\"19251\" data-grams=\"200\">\n<p itemprop=\"ingredients\"><strong>1 cup uncooked orzo pasta<label><label><\/label><\/label><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li id=\"liIngredient\" data-role=\"recipe-ingredient\" data-ingredientid=\"16133\" data-grams=\"358.875\">\n<p itemprop=\"ingredients\"><strong>1 (14.5 ounce) can chicken broth (or homemade or from bouillon)<label><label><\/label><\/label><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li id=\"liIngredient\" data-role=\"recipe-ingredient\" data-ingredientid=\"16238\" data-grams=\"40\">\n<p itemprop=\"ingredients\"><strong>1\/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese<label><label><\/label><\/label><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li id=\"liIngredient\" data-ingredientid=\"16159\" data-grams=\"10.51167\">\n<p itemprop=\"ingredients\"><strong>1\/4 cup chopped fresh basil<label><label><\/label><\/label><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li id=\"liIngredient\" data-ingredientid=\"16421\" data-grams=\"0\">\n<p itemprop=\"ingredients\"><strong>salt and pepper to taste<label><label><\/label><\/label><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li id=\"liIngredient\" data-ingredientid=\"16159\" data-grams=\"5.3\">\n<p itemprop=\"ingredients\"><strong>2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>DIRECTIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Melt butter in heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Stir in orzo and saute until lightly browned. (WATCH IT, YOU DON&#8217;T WANT TO BURN IT, JUST BROWN IT).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Slowly stir in chicken stock and bring to boil. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer until orzo is tender and liquid is absorbed, about 15 &#8211; 20 minutes.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Mix in Parmesan cheese and basil. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer to shallow bowl.
