{"id":423,"date":"2014-02-16T08:44:18","date_gmt":"2014-02-16T14:44:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/?p=423"},"modified":"2018-03-23T12:58:05","modified_gmt":"2018-03-23T17:58:05","slug":"puffed-apple-pancake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/?p=423","title":{"rendered":"Puffed Apple Pancake *"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"pf-content\"><p><a href=\"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/puffy-apple-pancake.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/puffy-apple-pancake-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"puffy-apple-pancake\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>This is a wonderful breakfast treat.\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t have enough Golden Del. apples on hand, even though I planned well, so I used 3T. butter instead of 4.\u00a0 It turned out flavored like apple pie, mixed with an omelet, and a pancake.\u00a0 It was awesome.\u00a0 I suggest eating it on day 1 though, that&#8217;s when the flavor and rise was the best.\u00a0 Within 30 minutes it falls to a thin height and won&#8217;t be as attractive.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"ingredients\">\n<div id=\"ingredients_headline_wrapper\">\n<h2><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>1 cup whole milk<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>4 large eggs<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>3 tablespoons sugar<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1 teaspoon vanilla extract**<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1\/2 teaspoon salt<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1\/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon**<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>2\/3 cup all purpose flour<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>4 tablespoons (1\/2 stick) unsalted butter<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>12 ounces Golden Delicious apples (about 2), peeled, cored, thinly sliced<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>3 tablespoons (packed) golden brown sugar<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Powdered sugar (optional)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>**To make this IC safe, at least remove the cinnamon, possibly the vanilla if it bothers you.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"preparation\">\n<h2><strong>Preparation<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Preheat oven to 425\u00b0F. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Whisk milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, salt, and cinnamon in large bowl until well blended. Add flour and whisk until batter is smooth. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Place butter in 13&#215;9-inch glass baking dish. Place dish in oven until butter melts, about 5 minutes. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Remove dish from oven. Place apple slices in overlapping rows atop melted butter in baking dish. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Return to oven and bake until apples begin to soften slightly and butter is bubbling and beginning to brown around edges of dish, about 10 minutes.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Pour batter over apples in dish and sprinkle with brown sugar. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Bake pancake until puffed and brown, about 20 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
