First, I shredded the apple (but only used 1\/2 cup), then I removed the shredded apple, and mixed my other ingredients (flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt).\u00a0 Then I added back my apple and then put in the milk.\u00a0 I even &#8216;kneaded&#8217; it in the processor instead of on a cutting board.\u00a0 Easy, just a little sticky recipe, so I added more flour and covered it in flour before shaping into a circle.\u00a0 DELICIOUS!\u00a0 Add some butter and preserves, serve with tea!\u00a0 It goes great with Dutch apple preserves!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>2 cups flour <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1\/4 cup sugar <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>2 teaspoons baking powder <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1\/2 teaspoon baking soda <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1\/2 teaspoon salt <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1\/4 cup butter, cold <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1\/2 cup apple, shredded (1 medium) <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1\/2 cup milk <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>to taste milk, for topping the scones <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>to taste sugar <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>to taste cinnamon**<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">**Known IC irritants, tread carefully!\u00a0 Omit the cinnamon to make it IC safe.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>DIRECTIONS:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<div><strong>Preheat oven to 425 degrees. <\/strong><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div><strong>Measure flour, sugar, b. powder, soda, and salt into large bowl. Cut in butter until crumbly. <\/strong><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div><strong>Add apple and milk. Stir to form soft dough. <\/strong><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div><strong>Turn out onto lightly floured board; knead gently 8 to 10 times. Pat into two 6-inch circles. Place on greased baking sheet. <\/strong><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div><strong>Brush tops with milk; sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Score each top into six pie-shaped wedges.\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div><strong> Bake for 15 minutes or until browned and risen.
