{"id":252,"date":"2013-10-11T19:40:11","date_gmt":"2013-10-12T00:40:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/?p=252"},"modified":"2018-03-23T17:03:06","modified_gmt":"2018-03-23T22:03:06","slug":"raspberry-and-apple-crisp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/?p=252","title":{"rendered":"Raspberry and Apple Crisp *"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"pf-content\"><p><a href=\"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/apple-rasp-crisp.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-253\" src=\"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/apple-rasp-crisp.jpg\" alt=\"apple-rasp-crisp\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>This is a wonderful recipe I adapted, it just comes out perfectly and is healthier (even though it&#8217;s still a dessert) than a traditional apple pie because it is lacking the caloric crusts.\u00a0 Galas or honey crisp work especially well here.\u00a0 ENJOY!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>4 cups sliced apples<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1\/4 cup raspberries, if tolerated<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1 teaspoon ground cinnamon**<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1\/2 cup water<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1 cup brown sugar (You can get away with 3\/4 cup here to reduce the sugar; I&#8217;ve done it successfully). <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1\/2 stick butter (4 tablespoons)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>3\/4 cup all-purpose flour (You can do a half all-purpose and half whole wheat mixture)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1\/2 cup quick oats, optional but healthier!\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">**Make this IC safe by removing the cinnamon. Omit raspberries if they bother you.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>DIRECTIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Preheat oven to 350\u00b0 degrees F. Grease a 8&#215;8&#8243; to a 10&#215;7&#8243; (approximately) pan.\u00a0 The size doesn&#8217;t matter, it just may take longer to cook in a smaller pan.\u00a0 (I used a glass pan). <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Place apples in prepared dish. Sprinkle raspberries randomly in the dish.\u00a0 Sprinkle with cinnamon.\u00a0 Pour water over the entire thing. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>In a bowl, cream sugar and butter together.\u00a0 You can use a mixer or your clean hands. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Gently blend in flour and quick oats.\u00a0 Sprinkle this mixture evenly over apples.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Bake in preheated oven 30-40 minutes until apples are tender and crust is golden.\u00a0 Mine usually takes 40 minutes. \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is a wonderful recipe I adapted, it just comes out perfectly and is healthier (even though it&#8217;s still a dessert) than a traditional apple pie because it is lacking the caloric crusts.\u00a0 Galas or honey crisp work especially well here.\u00a0 ENJOY!
