{"id":142,"date":"2013-07-31T08:54:43","date_gmt":"2013-07-31T13:54:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/?page_id=142"},"modified":"2020-07-12T17:28:19","modified_gmt":"2020-07-12T22:28:19","slug":"about-the-cook","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/?page_id=142","title":{"rendered":"About The Cook"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"pf-content\"><p><a href=\"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/zoopic2013.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-145 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/zoopic2013-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"zoopic2013\" width=\"624\" height=\"468\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/zoopic2013-800x600.jpg 800w, https:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/zoopic2013.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 624px) 100vw, 624px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Welcome to my I.C. blog! \u00a0I&#8217;m Tiffany from Chicago, Illinois.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve always loved cooking but having I.C. threw a wrench in my culinary plans.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In 2012 I was diagnosed with interstitial cystitis\/PBS of the bladder.\u00a0 This is a condition that involves unbelievably severe pain of the bladder when you consume the wrong foods or drinks and when you are dehydrated.\u00a0 When you eat an offending food and then urinate, the urinary burn is beyond words and can last hours or days in a flare.\u00a0 Sometimes you have to urinate so frequently you wonder how you will go to public\/crowded places or enjoy life.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a brutal condition that came out of\u00a0nowhere for me &#8211; and shows no sign of ending.\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In 2017, my I.C. worsened which led me to have a hydrodistension\u00a0surgery of the bladder, in addition to another female surgery.\u00a0 I take many drugs to manage I.C. to just feel remotely like I used to.\u00a0 I highly recommend Dessert Harvest aloe pills 5x a day or more.\u00a0 It&#8217;s very soothing to the bladder and I&#8217;m not as irritated anymore &#8211; but I still must avoid my irritant foods.\u00a0 I am still running to the bathroom almost every hour, excluding nighttime.\u00a0 I found an excellent uro-gyne, but no matter what we do, I am unable to eat any of my irritant foods. I&#8217;m more often than not in pain, with expert help.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>I make my own food because I know it&#8217;s safe. I know exactly what went into it and that it won&#8217;t hurt me.\u00a0 Eating out can be scary especially when restaurants have pre-marinated foods and too many ingredients or too many irritants\u00a0in one dish (like Thai, Chinese, or Mexican).\u00a0 They barely know what is in the foods or sauces\u00a0they purchase sometimes.
