{"id":580,"date":"2014-06-23T20:14:33","date_gmt":"2014-06-24T01:14:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/?p=580"},"modified":"2014-06-23T20:15:37","modified_gmt":"2014-06-24T01:15:37","slug":"almond-cake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/?p=580","title":{"rendered":"Almond Cake"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"pf-content\"><div id=\"wp-content-media-buttons\" class=\"wp-media-buttons\"><a id=\"insert-media-button\" class=\"button insert-media add_media\" title=\"Add Media\" href=\"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-admin\/post-new.php#\" data-editor=\"content\"> <\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/SAM_2124.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-581\" src=\"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/SAM_2124.jpg\" alt=\"SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES\" width=\"750\" height=\"1000\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/SAM_2125.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-582\" src=\"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/SAM_2125-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/SAM_2125-800x600.jpg 800w, http:\/\/tiffanycooks.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/SAM_2125.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-media-buttons\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-media-buttons\"><strong>From the first time I tried a bite of this cake, I was sold.\u00a0 It has such a unique flavor and crunch, you won&#8217;t forget it.\u00a0 I bought sliced almonds from Menards, of all places and they were great and cheap.\u00a0 I reduced the sugar to 1 cup and didn&#8217;t notice.\u00a0 I traced the outside of the flipped over pan on parchment paper, and then cut the inside of that line, for a smaller circle that would fit in the pan.\u00a0 You could also use pecans.\u00a0 A+!<\/strong><\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-media-buttons\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-media-buttons\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-media-buttons\"><strong>INGREDIENTS:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-media-buttons\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>2 cups sliced almonds, toasted (divided)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>3\/4 cup flour<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>3\/4 tsp. salt<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1\/4 tsp. baking powder<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1\/4 tsp. baking soda<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>4 large eggs (as with most baking, room temp)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1 1\/4 cups sugar, plus about 3 T. on the side<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1 T. grated lemon zest<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1 tsp. almond extract (don&#8217;t substitute)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>5 T. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">unsalted<\/span> butter, melted<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1\/3 cup vegetable oil<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-media-buttons\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-media-buttons\"><strong>DIRECTIONS:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-media-buttons\">\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Preheat oven to 300\u00b0.\u00a0 Grease a 9&#8243;
